Bellator 252 adds Sanchez vs. Weichel
Bellator 252 will see two Featherweight Grand Prix quarterfinals bouts.
Emmanuel Sanchez versus Daniel Weichel will serve as the co-main event to Patricio Freire against Pedro Carvalho on November 12th.
The bout was originally set for March 13th but was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Sanchez & Weichel are no strangers having went three rounds at Bellator 159 in July of 2016. That night a split decision went in Weichel’s favor.
Sanchez (19-4) has won six of his last seven fights, three of the wins by submission. In the opening round of the Grand Prix “El Matador” submitted Ty-wan Claxton by triangle choke. Weichel (40-11) has won five of his last seven fights. The fighter nicknamed “Drake” beat Saul Rogers by unanimous decision in the open round of the Grand Prix.
